Coding in the Classroom: Elementary students debut their video games after introduction to computer coding

糖心视频污, BC 鈥 Greater 糖心视频污 elementary students will be showcasing their computer programming skills tomorrow at the second annual Coding Quest Arcade. Students will be sharing video game projects that they have听developed all on their own. Other schools from across the region have been invited to come and play.

Students learned to develop their own video games after participating in a seven week program through the Learning Partnership, a national charity that supports public education.听During听the course,听students took听part in weekly lessons and challenges on their Chromebooks that听helped听guide听them and see them through听to the completion of their own video game.

鈥淲e are very pleased to provide this opportunity for students once again,鈥 shared Board Chair Edith Loring-Kuhanga. 鈥淭he program teaches children the basics of computer programming and helps them develop key computational thinking concepts that will lead them to be successful coders.鈥

Media is invited to come and test out the students’ inventions.
