French Immersion

Welcome to French Immersion

We are so excited you’re interested in enrolling your child in Early French Immersion (entering Kindergarten or Grade 1), or Late French Immersion (entering Grade 6). The goal of both programs is that non-Francophone students will become bilingual in English and French and acquire an understanding and appreciation of Francophone culture. We look forward to welcoming you to French Immersion within the Greater ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵÎÛ School District!

 

Early French Immersion

Students entering Kindergarten or Grade 1 can register in Early French Immersion. All learning is in French for the primary years, withÌýEnglish Language Arts introduced as a subject in Grade 3.

 

Late French Immersion

Students entering Grade 6 can register in Late French Immersion. No prior knowledge of French is expected or required.
